The man singing is called Eduard Khil, he recently passed away if my memory is correct. This was during the time of the soviet union and he was invited to sing during a festival. Because this was being broadcasted in a soviet controlled media station there was an extreme amount of censorship. The song Khil was going to sing was called " I Am Glad, 'Cause I'm Finally Returning Back Home" unfortunately literally every single word of the song was censored . So Khil had to sing the ENTIRE song sans lyrics. That is why I said it was remarkable because out of nothing Khil produced a performance that would be forgotten for years before coming back and going viral on a scale unseen before. Here are the actual lyrics to the song.
